This was originally posted on Barrok’s Tower in 2005 — I will be updating poisons for use in Pathfinder system. The poisons layout was something which came from how they were set out originally in MERP and Rolemaster, who in my opinion had one of the most descriptive poison and disease tables I have seen.

The bright red gas has been used by Grey Dwarves for over a century now when raiding Drow Elf outposts, which is how it got its name. The first use of it was on small outpost called Cargarrin. Most of the Drow became confused and slew each other. Now any person bearing a gas filled bauble with Cargarrin’s Madness who is encountered by Drow will immediately feel their full retribution. Illithids are also a bit miffed about this poisons manufacture due part of them being a vital ingredient.
